Crash Landing

from Burn It Out by Duke Buzzy

/

lyrics

Ran outta gas and was forced to a crash landing
that stretched as far as a Kardashian hamstring.
I'm a spectacular man-thing - the last thing standing,
in effect, on the move & past planning.
Past redemption, as God asked me to mention.
Believe in the Joker; I'm one of his wackest henchmen.
Hit you in the guts with a blast of dramatic tension
I mean the whole tract: gullet-to-ass wrenching
Make straight my way, a first-class ascension.
Make safe the streets. It's past prevention.
Hit you like a bulldozer and mass detention -
From the first Anglophone down to the last Frenchman...
Either you man up & unmask your tension
Or disappear in mental apprehension
Recede - Fall back in the second dimension
Read it & weep in animated suspension...

Chorus:

I have risen to die (Crash Landing)
To spy what misses the eye (Crash Landing)
They warned me not to try to kiss the sky
but I was born to fly this high (Crash Landing)

An alien walks beside you...
Sapient, but he's kinda new...
Now you can see what you been blind to:
an electrified flying object rising in the side-view...
A cybernetic Leviathon, and it flies too;
On Soviet Earth, traffic is gonna ride you.
Throwing the switch is tantamount to Homicide 2;
Nevermind SkyNet - Come on and meet Sky-YOU!
It's a cyborg Earth living inside you.
And if this is some kinda curse, you been lied to.
The skin of the sky cracks and you can dive through.
Who wants to be the Universe? I do...
My only obstacle in my own prejudice,
and wearing that dead weight like a necklace.
It's gonna look like I've lost it & gone reckless,
but that's the only way to get on with the rest of this!

(Chorus)

Sekhmet and Ammit never take a day off,
and they can throw Amun and Hathor way off -
Agents of chaos - mages playing with kleos...
and every day is the final game of the Playoffs.
Cities arise in the desert & get blown down;
Music is born in a forest making its own sound.
Compassion reacts where martyrs throw their bones down;
Their children come together and rebuild Jonestown.
We got love like Superman got kryptonite.
The poetry is felt, but it's not written right.
From sun-up until you hit the light,
life's intermittent like frames of winter light, tempered with delight.
So much for not putting old feet in new kicks;
Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?
Ain't no such thing as new... I think you knew this.
What's new to you, I knew before you kids...

(Chorus)
