Dude (Tao of a Screw-Up)

about

Heard Eric B & Rakim's 'Paid in Full' in 1989 or so, and Maestro's 'Watching Zeroes Grow' came out a couple years later (The Black Tie Affair). Never thought I'd be referencing them in a rap about Jeff Lebowski over a Zeppelin loop, but here we are.

I hope the irony ain't lost.

Incidentally, this was the easiest track of the album to write. I didn't even write the hook down, just spit it in the shower one morning & thought "That's it."

I do my best 'writing' in the shower. Should shower more often.

Duke did this. Respect to Rakim & Maestro Fresh Wes for the 'inspiration' (read: direct rip-offs).
